RV Organizational Tools I Can’t Live Without

Staying organized in a small space can be challenging, but if you’re like me it is essential in order to keep your sanity! There isn’t much I hate more than spending half an hour looking for something, moving bins around or sifting through cabinets and drawers.

Our RV isn’t as organized as I’d like, but there are a few organizing tools that I couldn’t do without now that I have them.

Without further ado, let’s get straight to the list!

Storage for RV cabinet

2 Tier Mesh Sliding Organizer

This awesome double decker drawer thing. Make sure it’s not too tall for your cabinet; you’ll want some extra height available for the items you’ll be storing in the top drawer. I currently keep extra spices in it.

Utensil holder for RV

Joseph Joseph 85112 Surface Sink Caddy

This utensil holder for the kitchen countertop. It has a rubbery bottom that keeps it from sliding around during travel, and also a spot for sponges and scrubbies. I LOVE not having to scrounge through the kitchen drawers for spatulas, scissors, wooden spoons, etc.:

Laundry hamper for RV

Laundry Jet Slim Laundry Bin

This laundry hamper. Your dirty laundry has to go somewhere… why not in this slim hamper with wheels and a handle? This fits in the small space next to our dresser, holds a week’s worth of our laundry, and when it’s time to wash we have the option to pull it along on its wheels to the laundry room.  I’ll be honest, we usually just plunk it into our handy foldable wagon, but the wheels on the hamper are a nice option. I would tie a strap to the handle to pull it since I would have to stoop over a little to use it.

Storage bins for RV

Mainstays Shoebox with Drop Front Door

Mainstays drop front shoe boxes. Amazingly simple, these plastic bins stack as high as you want, but you can access the contents via a front drop-down door. Genius! They’re made for shoes, but I also use them for bottles of lotion and soaps, small electronics and a few extra clothing items. Size is 14.6 x 9.8 x 7.5.

Slide-out drawer for RV cabinet

Simplehuman pull-out cabinet organizer

Slide-out drawer for narrow cabinets (like an RV kitchen cabinet). This helps a ton with utilizing the space in RV pantries or cabinets.  Why are these cabinets so deep and narrow, anyway?  A little bit of installation work is required for this one using the provided hardware, but certainly worth it. Your cabinet opening must be at least 12″ wide to install it. I couldn’t find anything similar that can be installed in a narrower space. Note that our cabinets are a 11.9 ” opening and overall width inside of 14″, so using this leaves a little space on the sides. We installed it closer to one side so we’d have more room to store extra things to one side of it. We can still fit some items like boxes of pasta and the ever-essential candy bars next to the drawer.

Jewelry organizer for RV

Hanging Jewelry Organizer

Jewelry Organizer. I had some trouble finding this one. Even though I had pictured something like it in my mind’s eye, I just couldn’t find anything in-store or online. This is a perfect solution for jewelry storage for anyone, not just us RVers! On one side, velcro loops hold necklaces in place so they don’t tangle and they’re easy to find. Plastic pouches on the other side hold your pins, earrings and bracelets.

Pan organizer for RV

Pan Organizer

Pan Organizer. We put this in the cabinet underneath the RV oven, and it holds 4 pans and a lid. The dividers are adjustable so you can use it how you need to! There is still room in next to it in our cabinet to store a knife set, 2 sauce pans and an electric coffee pot. Love that you can use it in a horizontal or vertical position so that you can maximize the space that you have. Very low price for such a valuable tool.
